Video Remote Interpreting

| June 27, 2013

photo[1]VRI provides many benefits to both the hospital staff and patient. The patient receives responsive care in their native language. The staff is able to communicate with the patient and also determine if they understand the information being communicated. The staff doesn’t have to schedule visits with the patient but rather can interact with them as needed because the interpreter is always available. VRI is cost effective for the hospital because the cost is based on the minutes used not on the engagement. The on-site model with pay by engagement, normally a two hour minimum and then by the hour thereafter, is expensive and inefficient.
